wanted to update my experience with the skype for those thinking of using it.

as you recall from the last episode, your hero had bought some credit to try out the service on the "liberal wifi connection" that i have.

i was fairly impressed so i went ahead and purchased the monthly subscription, and so far so good, the girl loves it, and we have worked out the one ring on the cell phone system hahahah.

so in summation 2.95 thru the credit card every month, unlimited calls us, and canada, voicemail, and caller ID via my cell number works nice.

had a little tech issue with the voicemail, but signing out and back in after 5 minutes did the trick.

what up yall, ok got a new skype account and we tring it out.

first impression is ok, the sound quality is pretty decent i would say about 8 so far. i have the 10 credit thing, and i must say doing it thru the paypal and echeck is not the way to go took 3 days, use your credit card much faster.

added a couple "call me buttons" to the page, so if you click it will call me direct on the skype, dont cost anything for you or me if you have skype.

tried it with the boss and even the video looks great, iam using the ol school isight camera and it worked dynamite with the camera and the voice.

we might get a subscription which is 2.95 a month but we gonna see how we like it first.

only thing thats not so hot, for local calls, they charge ya a 3.9 connection fee, which i didnt know bout and its waived on the subscription one, but live and learn and pass it on.

Lost a good lil dude today from 50mm and real life.........many ryme battles, lots of shit talking and lots of fun, dude will be missed for shure....damnnnnnnnn 20 years old......

The Los Angeles County coroner's office on Saturday identified the driver of an SUV who was killed when his vehicle veered off a freeway ramp and landed in a backyard in Hawthorne.

Armando Jose Huante, 20, of Los Angeles was transitioning from the southbound 405 Freeway to the eastbound 105 Freeway about 8:50 p.m. Friday when the vehicle crashed through a guardrail, clipped a house and came to rest in the backyard of a house at 115th Street and Sundale Avenue, Hawthorne police said.

Huante was pronounced dead at the scene. California Highway Patrol Officer Alex Gonzales declined to speculate whether rain was a factor, although it had been raining heavily in the area.

New Sign Ordinance Proposed by the Planning Department - January 22, 2009
The City of Los Angeles Planning Department has proposed a new sign ordinance. This ordinance is posted at the following link: http://cityplanning.lacity.org/ on the www.lacity.org web site under “Plans & Ordinances” – “Proposed Ordinances”. This proposal is being presented at the Planning Commission meeting on Thursday, January 22, 2009.

Summary of Main Points
The proposed new sign code treats all murals the same as a commercial signs, supergraphics or billboards. All new signs, including murals must be no larger than 100 square feet in size. Although all sign regulations should be content neutral, the Planning Department hopes to allow large fine art murals to only be allowed through a process where a building owner gives ownership of the mural to the city through an easement process. However, this easement process is not actually included in the currently proposed sign ordinance. The easement process is being left out in order to be dealt with at some future date by Cultural Affairs. This is a big mistake. The proposed sign ordinance is a complex puzzle, and all of the pieces need to be in place in order for it to function.

As a over-consumer of the internet i have to say its one of my most enjoyable addictions, i have been online basically since about 96, i ran one of the first graffiti websites for my crew when people were on american online dial up. Wow things have changed not only in the speed and content but the internet has changed how we live life, how we do our everyday thing. She will be missed for the 50's pinup / bsdm icon she was, i am going to be doing some dedication pieces to her, being that iam a huge fan of her work as well as the stylized work of Vargas. Interesting lil nugget she actually had a masters degree in education, who knew. she will be buried in westwood a couple of feet away from marylin monroe, creepy....

The first run of the "from the inside out" for the printed show sold out, but luckly i had some extra time during Ms Phoenix's printing to make another 15, they are the "nighttime" version of the print and personally i like em way more, i spent more time since i wasnt under the gun adding some extras, so i'll be dropping em off at CREWEST tomorrow at like 2pm 12.13.08 if your interested in pickin one up, i think iam gonna print some more for the site, but who knows when the hell that will be.

Lost Collection 0001 | 1998-2008 REVIEW

First and foremost, If you missed the "LOST" show at the 33 1/3 over the weekend, kick yourself in the neck, it was amazing, Eye, Kopye and the Phantom of l.a came off as always, better than ever.

I caught up with Mr Eye on Sunday and he slid me a copy of the latest LOST mag, mag, no book, this thing is just beautiful. Eye has given me copies before and i couldn't really figure out why, but i have come to realize that hes just a super cool head that truely loves graff and design. So i figured i owe him a fair review of the book.

Now right when this thing hits your hand, your impressed, its got thick silk screened covers back and front and the design impression is gorgeous, eye is also a graphic designer and it shows heavy. The book is thick as fuck and as your flipping thru page after page of dope work by the likes of Krenz, Patrick Martinez, Cab, and others you start to think to yourself "i need to be in the next one of these", its that badass you just want to be part of the movement.

Everyone i have shown this thing to in the few days that i have had it wants to buy it off me, but of course when you receive a gift there is no way in hell you can sell it, but luckily eye has a site where you can pick one up http://lost.seekingheaven.com/. i was literally held hostage getting my bagels today by the clerk that couldn't put it down.

Speaking of the site, if you haven't already been there, its like everything eye does, first class "press release", plenty of pics and what really impressed me and that ain't exactly an easy thing to do, he has a sample pdf with like 24 pages from the book..............dope.

But your gonna wanna get the real thing of course, its a dope book for the house, shit it even put a touch of class to my house, and my dirty coffee table where it temporarily living.

Other highlights are Luna's macro spray cans, Francine the best photographer i know, was instantly impressed and that says a lot.

So conclusion: Dope worth every cent

Cons: It took me a minute to figure out how to close it right, the ring binding is somewhat confusing, a little to much bombing for me.

640 x 480 res, 1.3 kg, $250, don't know what the throw is or how big the image is, didnt say, but it looks pretty nice and small enough to throw in the backpack for those impromptu sessions, thats my new 5 dollar word btw, impromptu.....

seems like the only bad thing is that its composite video in, not the standard vga like on most projectors.........so i think you would need some kinda adaptor or something hmmmmmmmmm.

well after much experiment, the spray can lamps are finally done, and we piloting them over at 33 1/3. Not to toot my own horn but they came out great, iam really happy with em, there is only a few over there right now, so if you wanna be the first on the block, get over there quick. The lamps for sale are part of my DK1 series which means that i actually used them in commission of pieces, they are numbered and there is a track back site so that you can see what cans were used for what pieces.

Cool night, went out with the boy Tom for an art show at the 331/3 gallery, Big eye and Kopye definitely represented the show well, nice work as always. iam pretty much not gay, but i think its bigger than a lateral position. We are all in this together in los angeles, like it or not, there is a big population of very cool gay cats and dolls here and they are part of the collective so what happens to their rights eventually will impact everyones rights.

the fact that this is even a propostion is infurariting, a propistion to take away rights. I am fully aware of the prior court decision, but i feel that it was just and ya know sometimes all the people are just wrong. Voting in oppression and discriminary tactics toward gays is just an impulse reaction, hard wired Leviticus and years of biblilical programing have made people into robots, and thats where we need wise judges to see the seperation of church and state.

the people that sponsered this propostion mostly are not even from this state, why would they care about our eternal souls and what gay people do here. Well its part of a nationwide movement to strip gays of rights and replace books of the bible with "holy scripture", in my opinion. If you can stomp out that last refuge of free will and civil liberities than calfironia is on its way to becoming more like the "heartland" of this country.

well in the ongoing mystery bump saga, had to do some "blood work" which means an hiv /hep c test last week and had to wait a whole week to get results to schedule a surgery for my bumpie bump........

that was a long week, even doe i had an HIV test 3 years ago and i been with steady girlfriends ya just never know, so all good

had to stop the doc after i got the results to let out a week long "whewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww" then we could continue.......

i have been having some rather sharp ear pain, so since i was down there, i asked about it, a new doc did an ear exam and said it looked weird, another resident came in and said that the bump didnt feel right, like not a tumor even doe, the bioposy said it was that benign thingie labobbie........

so we tring some new shit...........augmentine........a super hard core peniclin derivitive and some steroids to see if it clears up in 2 weeks that would be the best scenerio...........after one pill doe iam starting to feel reduction.......thats good, this was my 10th trip to ucla harbor medical center.

i had looked this up, and what they think it might be is a super infection or possibly a partoid gland abcess......keep your fingers crossed and call jebus for me...........

so i havnt been speaking on this much, but i have had a bit of a medical issue as of late..........

about a year and half ago, i started having pain in my right jaw....inability to open my mouth and talk shit all the way, headaches bla bla lifes tough get a helment......right

well, i went to a couple urgent cares, a couple denists and finally an oral surgeon, who hipped me that i should see an ENT.........

well sounds great, but i dont have fucking insurance thanks to this wonderful country and its ass healthcare system..........

but i called up the ENT that was refered to me at UCLA SM.......and they said just to see dude was 1400 bucks.........i cant and will not afford that........so i said to the lady "what would you do if you didnt have insurance".........

she said go to UCLA MEDICAL CENTER torrance...........

Now, i been to country facilities when i was shot and basically it wasnt the best experience ever, fucking graff in the elevators, handcuffed inmates in the next bed you get the picture.

but i was in pain so i went to the urgent care and they gave me a referal to the dudes at the ENT dept.......(this is key cause the oral surgeon that o.g went to would have taken 2 months), with the referal from urgent care i was in 1 week.........

now the interesting part.........

the area that was giving me pain was whats called the parotid gland.......a big fucking gland that produces saliva and does a bunch of other shit i guess, but it was acting the fuck up...........

possible causes for my symtopms sorta leaned to what they call a stone blocking the duct.........basically a calcified stone get stuck in the bowling alley to your mouth and all kinda bad shit happens

next visit they felt some hard mass at the edge of my jaw by the ear..........that aint so good.........any mass could be a grip of shit, and none of it good.........could be a abcess could be cancerous tumor could be just a tumor..........hahaha arnold pops into my head of course "its not a tumor"..........hahhhahah

anyways, UCLA ENT fucking rocks..........they kinda fucked up on giving me 3 CT scans in a row when they should have been doing the MRI's but whatever..........finally got the MRI..........in a big ass trailor btw

had to come back for results and sure enough...............4 cm tumor of the parotid gland...........thats not so hot..........but even doe iam having pain they wanted to see what it was, only way to do that.............FNA..........CT guided fine needle aspiration..........yep its gonna suck as bad as it sounds ladies.......

went in, iam on like week 6 by now............but whatever got the FNA and that shit hurt like a mother fucker..........even with the dope and extra dope and signing waivers for even more dope, i still felt it.........

basically what they do is put a grid on your face mark it with a pen, then do the CT scan, then they start puting this "FINE" needle into your face slowly stopping to reguide by doing more CT images........takes about 30 mintues.........in out pokie pokie and then yoru done..........

NOW this part sucks.........waiting for the results.........and yall know me, i do research, and there is a bunch of shit it can be........15 kinda tumors, abcesses, this that the other pathalogy bla bla bla.........its a brain fuck via wiki.........

But whatever the brain is a powerful thing and i kinda resigned myself to expect the worst, cause with the pain the prognosis, didnt look that hot, all the shit i read said you got pain you kind fucked...........and of course the life expendency is maybe 20 years out...........not really enough for the kid, i expect to live to 1000.........but hey thats life get a helment........right

well thursday i went in and its pleomorphic adenomas.........the most common form of benign tumor like 84 percent of em.........whooooooooo.......for now.........the FNA aint 100 percent and its a big ass tumor so ya know grabbing cells even from different levels is dicey..........they told me really there is no wayto know until they yank the lil fuck out, which is exactly what i been reading........fucking wiki

so now its oct 24, and i had to do some blood work to make shure i aint go the koodies and i go into get results of that and set a date for a the "excision"......another word for take the fucker out of there via surgery..........

so it is what it is....but i wanted to put this up cause , doing my reserach nobody was really putting it down to what the experinece was "really like".........

its a nail biting scary fuck fest that takes some balls to get thru, but thanks to Fran, my boy TOM and the super pro cats at UCLA medical center torance ENT.......iam gonna pull it.........

the surgery is go in, get put out, they have to take the whole fucking parotid gland out with the tumor and watch the facial nervers that run thru the shit and which have been getting stretched causing the kid some serious fuck you pain.........then spend the night and go home to probably some facial weaknesss and maybe some sly stallone type shit for a week or two.............

Bad things bout the surgery which aint so hot............doc told me there is a chance that the facial nerve can get clipped or strtched out bad enough to keep my right eye permantly open for a while, i was fucking with em and saying "yea whatever i'll just put some duct tape on that shit".......and to my surprise "yea acutally thats exactly what you'll do" fuckkkkkkkkkkkkhahahhah.........

So i been saying this for quite some time, but i heard Tom Friedman echoing the sentiment this week.

The U.S needs to invest in Energy Tech, right now. the economics / environmental and political pitfalls of oil are a fucking disaster, we need to put our gross national brainpower in gear and be the world leader in this arena.

The fact is dash doesn't have any kids, but the rest of you keep on popping em out, increasing the demand for energy, and with the emerging "middle class" in up and coming countries like china, the demand will be even greater.

With the incredible brain power and large concentration of science here, we should be able to make this a booming industry, and by proxy save the fucking earth well save it for us, 1/4 of the mammals will be gone in 25 years, but i digress.

Wind, tidal, solar power are and have been the next big things, and once we make them economically feasible here as opposed to oil and coal, we can export the technology elsewhere.

We don't make anything else here worth a shit, well with the exception of pharmaceuticals, but i think if we all get off the zanax this could be the pivot point for the economy.

In conclusion the RAND study advised: "By far the most effective strategy against religious groups has been the use of local police and intelligence services, which were responsible for the end of 73 percent of [terrorist] groups since 1968."

Good sounds from the MPC2000 chased with natural light and mr svens "tampons joints" ahhaahhh, Sven is a very cool cat and fran and I wish him super good happy fun luck in his new digs in highland park. Double P.S, the fate of the walls is dubious at this point, as they are building some more doouch style uppie boxes in the lot next to unitard, kofie already has a rather large cinderblock construction in from of his piece (for trash cans), and there is rebar and heavy mining equipment all around the walls, so we'll keep our digits crossed that they keep the pieces up for sentimental value, but i must be honest i dont understand white people so who knows

Got a new piece by the generosity of Fran, and so i had to break it in today. Trying out some new stuff, cant really see it but i glued in some velum, tried some cotton for the clouds but that was a mess. Little dedication to the "lady" gloria molina in there too.

Went to hang with the fellas and support today at the 33 1/3 on pico. the Dash / urban / boys day out equivalent of "the sunday game", i came out to support my boy Plek, Toons, Trixter. Incredible work from all these guys and it was fresh hanging / drinking with some intellectually stimulating folks such as Mondo, Biser, Toons, Killer and other cats with with equally odd sounding names. Lil Muck was again out and about this time painting her letters that she said were again "fashion magazine inspired" although i didnt see any Kim Kardasian features in her letters (missed the photo op of her piece tbc)

Cool day if you were there ya know what iam saying.......peace and respects to the K4P, WAI, LAW, SFT, WCA, UTI crew......

Happy Bday to Make one, who also as always came off real fresh......

Art Show Saturdays

Fran and I canvased the city on Saturdays in search of well "canvases', first on the list was the "01" gallery featuring some Iraqi / we are a bunch of capitalistic bastard inspired art, very nice people at the 01 but I was fairly unimpressed that the content imagery came from the "Internet" as opposed to a real life experience, sudo celebrity siting included Retna and Revok, then it was on to Glendale for some white art that was categorized as "conceptual", but i thought it was groovy cause the theme of the show was "time capsules", "dont open until my death etc", I differ on the importance of conceptual art, but thats for a later blog at which time i am sure i will forget why i gave a shit so much at the time.

after which we breezed thru to Alhambra to the nucleus gallery on main, which moved unexpectedly and played tricks on our parking fairy but it was all good. By this time Parties were getting tired so we made a short stay of it, but highlights were seeing my friend Mari selling a piece for 1800 and "My shitty driving".......hahhaha

i be needed an ipod touch, preferably a iphone, but i aint getting pimped for 2 years by the death star, so i need an ipod touch, it will need to be jailbroken and of course since itunes 8 just came out with the anti pwned feature, the pwned dudes said suck it and put up a counter measure app.

there is a rumor that apple will be putting out a "macbook touch" in october, this is amazing, straight minority report about it. think ipod touch bigger, for reading the paper / this blog, making music, check the video, its a concept video but from what i heard its kinda on point.

Ok first and foremost, i'am a white guy.....(well Italian and Indian, but i look pretty white, mmm that's to be discussed later, never got turned down for a loan or got my ass kicked by the police so yea i guess i'am white, i'll play the card)

I have been hearing my to do do about gentrification, and for some reason i just don't understand why its a bad thing.

I mean you got a shitty neighborhood with gangs, fucked up roads, graffiti and a run down set of shops, why not refresh that shit.

Los Angeles in general is a wash of beige and grey with a lot of repetition, mexican restaurant mexican restaurant, gun store, church, liquor store, strip mall, etc, or Starbucks, whole foods, jamba juice, etc. Run down house with rusty chain link or new condos with bamboo in the front yard.

So which do you prefer, i mean if you had the money which would you prefer. I went to whole foods yesterday in Venice and i gotta say it was nicer than the big lots that was there.

The bums that used to hang around the big lots for the most part are gone, the area is starting to clean up, people are walking there dogs again, and for the most part its safer than it was in the days of the oak wood crips and dope slanging and gang violence of the late 80s early 90's.

I cant see how this is a bad thing, the Mexican people that live in the neighborhood ain't gangsters, they fucking working class people who like walking they dogs to. Don't like bullshit in they hood where their kids are growing up.

The Venice area is one example, Silver lake, Eagle rock, Highland park are all going thru a change, a flux, a renewal. Hipsters, Artist, and Bohemians are always the first wave, and generally integrate into the neighborhood fairly well. Everyone starts doing home improvement, people start keeping up their lawns, and the neighborhood get a art gallery and few coffee shops. Why is this a problem i don't get it.

One thing i have noticed that i cant explain is that it only seems to be in the Spanish (mexican)areas of Los Angeles, this could possibly be to white and black peoples self imposed segregation i'am not shure, but it does seem to the norm.

Los Angeles is such a weird fucking place sometimes, we are the most culturally diverse yet the most segregated at the same time.

Well that's my anthropology rant for now, leave a comment if you agree disagree, its an open topic with me, i'am interested to hear other views.

new ipod touch mehhhhh

Well ever since Fran got her iphone i have been wanting a similar experience, but after hearing the rumors on the interweb, i thought i would wait till they came out with the new one. There were rumors of a camera and GPS, but when i rolled out of bed an hour after the event, these rumors turned out to be just that.

Apple is a great company and make nice stuff, but there events as of late have been less that spectacular and today was no exception.

Basically it has a new back, hard volume buttons, and a price point break, 8 GB for 229. Thats 30 bucks more than original estimates but whatever 30 bucks.

To be honest i was really hoping for the GPS, so many applications and possiblities for GPS, geotagging, and location based do hickeys are really nice on the iphone, but i guess i will have to live without it.

The Touch is still amazing, and i still want one, did i mention its my birthday. It a great time for technology and my last post with pics from 1987 reminds me how far its come.

Back in 1987 when i was going to community college, computers were just not readily available, and for shure i couldn't afford one even if they where, the ipod was the walkman or swap meet equivalent. There was no internet, no digital cameras, 20 odd years wow, things have changed so much, its great.

Glad i made it this far, and i hope i got another 100 years in me so i can see how far we go from here.
